Gracie has made me more angry than I have EVER been today. I got a call at about 10:30 from the school nurse saying that Gracie had thrown up in the bathroom at school and just wasn't feeling well. I talked to her and when I asked where it hurt she said, "I don't know" then when I asked if she felt better she said, "kind of." So after feeling guilty leaving her there with vomit (and I think there are rules against that) I went to get her.
I went ahead and picked up Grant since I was going to have to come back and get him and they were watching a movie. So we went to McDonald's and got lunch - she was starving - isn't that odd for one that had just vomited?? We were back at the church and she was laying on the couch. Within 10 minutes she was all hyper playing with Grant. Kim and Elyse came in to say goodbye and said, "you don't look sick Gracie." and she said, "I am not, I just said that so I could come home!" with a big ol' proud of herself smile. Are you kidding me?!?!?! She is so lucky that two people were in there with me and I didn't have the opportunity to immediately KILL her!
So after they left it began. It all comes down to this - she is in her room reading and writing book reports for the weekend. She called Mrs. Forlines and the nurse to apologize. I am emailing Mrs. Forlines to make sure that if there is a punishment in the classroom, that she needs that too. We had to cancel the Websters coming for dinner (I am sorry Websters!) because that meant she'd have fun. NO FUN ALLOWED! Which really stinks for me and Chad! Tomorrow night when we go to the movie and she was supposed to go to the church nursery (which would be fun), she has used her own money to buy a ticket and will be going to the grown up movie with us. Chad and I will have popcorn and candy - she will not! I am not giving in on this one.
Grant was sad that Ross wasn't coming over and didn't think that was fair. Neither did I. So he and Chad have gone camping and fishing. I, on the other hand am stuck here with no one but the naughty one. Oh well, I guess I'll get a good night's sleep without Chad snoring.
