"Mom is great, she gives us chocolate cake!"

I may go nuts most days and scream like a maniac at our kids, but there is no way that they can grow up to say that we didn't have crazy fun. Isn't that what they say about crazy manic people? Anyway...Sunday night we had banana splits for dinner with Grammy. We used to do that when I was a kid on Sunday nights. My dad has no recollection of that at all. Not sure where he was, but Mom, Steph and I sure do remember it! He isn't much into ice cream, he probably opted for peanut butter instead.
Then last night we made our shrinky dinks, then brownies and cupcakes to take on our trip this weekend. Yes, on a Thursday night with homework and spelling tests to prepare for. Oh yeah, and we had to pack. Can you say "biting off more than you can chew!" So needless to say the brownies and the cupcakes weren't done before bedtime. The kids laid the guilt on thick. Grant even crossed his arms and said, "you will get to eat them after we go to bed. That's not fair." He was right, it wasn't fair. But it was 8:45 and I was DONE for the day. So I told them if they would go to bed nicely then I would let them have chocolate cake for breakfast. They were in their beds within seconds after prayers and not a peep out of either of them. Trust me, they didn't forget this morning either.
I know they think I must have lost it. I won't even let them have sugar normally and now they have had 2 meals of nothing but sugar in a week! There is probably less sugar in a cupcake than a pop tart, right?
We're off to Athens tonight (actually we're staying in Winder) and then to the game tomorrow. Pray for sunshine. Then on Sunday we're going to the aquarium and may check out the children's program at Northpoint Community Church in Atlanta. Monday morning we are to be at Scottish Rite at 7:30. I'll update soon thereafter. Thanks for your prayers.
