Play Ball!

We have been at the fields behind Billy's since 8 am. But we had fun on such a beautiful day. Grant was all about his opening ceremony and 2 games. He did so good! He ran wherever the ball was (with about 10 other kids!) and spent most of his time in the outfield talking to Coach Sammie. I am sure he was telling him how things should be done. He also was able to talk on the microphone throughout the day to tell everyone to come to the Baseball Buzzoff for Cancer Research next weekend. I think those boys were all excited about that! Mrs. Munoz made him feel like a rock star!
Gracie's game didn't start until 2. It seemed like midnight! They beat the Crush! She has been so nervous about actually playing a game and even more so against Sydney's team the Crush. They did really good. Their pitcher, Annie, is really good. She walked 3 times and struck out once. There weren't many hits. It was a game of walks. But they won 10-4. The pictures I have of her were her standing in outfield just waiting. It got boring for her - I hope she can get excited about it or it is going to be a long Spring!
While she was playing Grant and all his friends were having a war and using sticks as weapons. They had a blast in the dirt! He loved every minute of it. We finally got home about 4:30 and I made him take a bath. He had more dirt in his hair than he has hair! Then he and I settled in for a nap. Delightful!
It was a fun day with all our Mulberry friends. I have never been to baseball in town, but I am pretty sure I wouldn't have let Grant run all over and relax while he was running wild there. It is great to know that everyone there is someone we know and not to worry about safety. Just as little league should be!

Chad is going to the race tomorrow with his friend Jerry. Jerry and Chad met at the hospital on Gracie's birthday. His son Brian was born on the same day and he was one of the first people Chad met from Aflac (Chad had been working at Aflac 14 days when Gracie was born). Jerry is going to take pictures of the Aflac team and he invited Chad to join him.
