I think I may have lost my mind. I really didn't have much to do this week with the yard sale being over, not working at the preschool anymore, all I had this week was Family Game Night Friday. So why not organize a giant fundraiser?!?! This is where I find myself often. But I am realizing that we are at a place in the acceptance of Grant's disease that I am ready to do something about it. You can only sit around and cry for so long before you have to get moving. Or at least I do.
All the little boys in Grant's class are itching to shave their heads. Their parents are asking when we are going to shave what is left of Grant's hair. So, I decided to give them the opportunity and raise some money for research in the process.
We haven't been posted on the website, but there is more information about the organization at http://www.stbaldricks.org/. They are asking if we can designate the money go to research for Histiocytosis specifically.
I hope you all can come and I hope that you can HELP!! We need licensed barbers, we need registration people, we need a head painter (I thought it would be fun to paint the bald heads to look like baseballs), we need shavees (up to Grant, Mr. Clark and Mr. Ken officially. I am not counting the four year olds until their moms agree), we need media coverage and we need people to give money!
March 14 is opening day for HC Little League, so there will be people there to support it. We just need to let them know what it is all about.

YOU can shave the way to conquering kids’ cancer on Saturday, March 14
