It's a Wonderful Life!

These are a couple shots of the kids at church with Santa last week. And a couple of Gracie's recital. She has aspirations of being a Rockette and really liked the kick line number!
We are having a quiet day this Christmas Eve just picking up the house and cooking. We just finished icing gingerbread men (that are going to be NASTY! They are hard as bricks) and making a birthday cake for Jesus.
Yesterday was a fun day. The kids and I were stuck at home with no car because Chad's truck was in the shop. You know we always say Chad is going to drive that truck till the wheels fell off? Well that almost happened! His truck was making a grinding noise. So he had the brakes done last week thinking that would fix it. It didn't. He took it to Gary in Phenix City and he said the wheel was about to fall off and you know that would be bad! But he reattached it and we're all good now. But being stuck at home made us all feel a little trapped. So the kids and I decided to walk to Dollar General to get stuff to make Chex mix. It was a fun adventure! They didn't have Chex, so we kept walking on what used to be the railroad through the woods to Billy's. It was really fun!
Our elf, Kirby, brought Grant 2 lumps of coal as a warning yesterday. He has had a rough week. He told his sister he hated her not just once, but twice. He had his mouth washed out with soap both times. Then on Tuesday he took off running from me at the church and ran out two different doors, going to "find a new family!" He didn't say he hated me though - just that he "really didn't like me!" Needless to say, he'll be lucky if Santa fills his stocking. He really doesn't seem to be too worried about it though.
Last night while I was cooking breakfast, lunch and dinner for Christmas day, we watched It's a Wonderful Life. I enjoyed being busy during the movie and still being able to watch it thanks to Chad setting it up in the keeping room. I don't much like sitting on the couch watching movies, so it was great to have it on while I was busy. I love that movie! Both kids made it all the way through for the first time. I remember watching that movie in Nana and Po's back bedroom for years at Christmas time. I finished all the food and we are looking forward to a great Christmas. Mimi and Pop Pop will be here late tonight. Grammy and Gramps are coming for New Year's Eve.
Merry Christmas!!
