We are gearing up for the 2nd Hike for a Cure at Shenandoah National Park on April 30. This was a wonderful experience last year and we can't wait to go back. Breathing the same air as 100 other families that know EXACTLY what we went through is something we never thought possible. Little did we know we'd be grasping for that air! It was a very challenging hike! This year we are headed back ready to raise another $100,000 for Histiocytosis. A few months ago I ran across this quote and decided that this would be our Team Grant quote for the 2011 hike, so Josh and I worked together to put it on the t-shirt. The shirts are $20 each and available in youth and adult sizes. Please email me (melmelvin14@gmail.com) by March 15 to place your order.

I've been looking for a reason to play bingo...so here it is! Friday, March 25 from 7-9 pm in the St. Mark UMC Activity Center it is ON! We are playing for 2 hours for $10 per person. Come out and support Team Grant as we have a great time!

You will be with us in spirit as we hike on April 30, you will receive a free Hike for the Cure t-shirt, and you will be invited to the Warm Up Hike on Sunday, March 27 from 2-4 pm at FDR State Park. We had a great time warming up with our friends last year, become a Virtual Hiker today!

One last opportunity to be involved...on April 16, 2 days after Grant's 7th birthday he has asked to have a "fundraiser birthday." Seriously, it was his idea!! I tried to get him to have it at the Warm Up Hike, but no, that wouldn't do! He wants to have a Video Game-a-Thon! Here's how it will work. We will set up a few consoles in the Youth Center at St. Mark, bring your handheld game if you have one and we will play games from 10-12. He's asking his friends to get pledges of $5 for every 15 minutes they play games instead of bringing him a gift. And you can join us too!!
