Feeling better

I am feeling much better. I called our nurse on Tuesday and she must have sensed the stress in my voice. She said to try all 5 pills again! That is what is so frustrating. Most people say, "have you tried applesauce?" or "mix it in a milkshake" or "teach him to swallow jello" I have ONE CHANCE A WEEK! We don't want to experiment with a new theory every week. Then when last week's theory doesn't work - I want to scream!
So we tried again on Tuesday. I ground up 2 pills into OJ after school. Thinking he wouldn't suspect a thing. Well, that would be true if it didn't float to the top and clump all together!! So I added some Fresca and made "punch" and gave Gracie some too. He knew something was up when I was insisting that he drink it.
Then I said, "do you want a special treat?" I ground up one thinking that it would be the ticket for the next 3. I added a spoon full of chocolate syrup and thought he'd love the straight syrup. Again, he knew. I ended up forcing it into his mouth in the corner.
So for #4 and #5 I mixed what was left of the chocolate spoon into milk and added the others. There is nothing that will keep him from his milk and he won't suspect that. I just prayed he wouldn't taste it! But I also wouldn't have to force him to finish it. I could just stick it in the fridge until he wanted more. So he finally finished them. I was much relieved.
I thought you'd like to know the highlight of our weekend. We went to lunch on Sunday and leisurely made it back to the room. Clark and Ross came back for a nap and we thought they were sleeping when we returned. Emma plopped down on the couch and the TV came on. We had thought we had no remote all weekend. Well every time Emma sat or stood up off the couch the TV would react. Then when Hanna was using the cell phone to find things online every time she clicked search it would change. So we thought there was some sort of interference. But Emma still thought she had the magical buttocks. Then Gracie and Grant decided they'd try. About that time Ross got up and was in on the act. They would stand in front of the TV grunting and squeezing their hi-nees thinking that it would do something. And it usually did. We laughed hysterically!
Clark woke up and was laughing with us. Then come to find out the stinker had the remote. But none of the kids knew yet. So we spent about 2 hours playing this game. I still don't think the boys know. Fun times!! We could have had that kind of fun in Phenix City - we didn't have to go all the way to the beach!
